QUICK ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

How do I place an order?

Choose products, sign in or create a customer account, then complete checkout on Paystack. Product orders include a ₦500 customer dispatch fee.

When does a vendor, brand or provider get paid?

Paystack sends checkout payments to the Unishop merchant integration. Earnings appear as withdrawable only after the customer confirms delivery or confirms a completed service. A verified Nigerian bank account and available Paystack integration balance are required for a transfer.

How is Unishop commission calculated?

Commission is applied to each vendor's or brand's product subtotal or provider's service price, before dispatch fees: 5% below ₦10,000, 10% from ₦10,000 to ₦29,999, and 15% from ₦30,000 upward.

What are the dispatch charges?

For product orders, the customer pays ₦500 and each vendor or brand contributes ₦500 from their settlement. The rider's tracked earnings are the customer fee plus vendor and brand contributions. For service bookings, the customer pays ₦500 and the provider contributes ₦500; both service charges are retained by Unishop.

How do I confirm delivery or a completed service?

Sign in to the customer dashboard. Confirm product delivery after the rider marks it delivered, or confirm a service after the provider marks it complete. Only confirm work you have received.

Can I withdraw before the customer confirms?

No. The dashboard balance becomes available after customer confirmation. Paystack transfer processing can still be delayed, fail or be reversed.

Is checkout money held in escrow?

No. Paystack checkout pays the Unishop merchant integration. The dashboard tracks settlement eligibility; it does not ring-fence funds or guarantee that the merchant's Paystack balance remains available.

How do refunds and complaints work?

This prototype does not yet provide an in-app refund or dispute workflow. Keep your order or booking reference and contact the Unishop operator through the support channel they provide. A published support contact and written refund process are required before live launch.

DRAFT TERMS

Terms of use

These draft terms explain the prototype's marketplace flow. The operator must add its registered legal name, a working notice address, final cancellation/refund terms and governing-law review before launch.

1. Marketplace roles

Unishop provides a marketplace interface connecting customers with independent vendors and brands, service providers and dispatch riders. Listings and starter catalogue examples may be supplied by their respective publishers. Vendors, brands and providers are responsible for the accuracy, legality, quality and fulfilment of their listings.

2. Accounts and orders

Keep account credentials private and provide accurate order, booking and delivery information. Customer accounts are required for product checkout and for confirming delivery or service completion. A Paystack payment confirmation records payment; it does not by itself confirm delivery or service completion.

3. Pricing and fees

Product and service prices are shown in naira. The customer dispatch charge is ₦500. For product orders, each vendor or brand contributes ₦500 and the product rider's tracked fee includes the customer charge and vendor and brand contributions. Service bookings add a ₦500 customer charge and a ₦500 provider contribution, both retained by Unishop. The commission tiers are 5% below ₦10,000, 10% from ₦10,000 to ₦29,999, and 15% from ₦30,000 upward, calculated per vendor/brand or provider subtotal before dispatch fees.

4. Payment and settlement

Payments are processed by Paystack under its own terms. The Unishop prototype records earnings as held until customer confirmation; after confirmation, an earner may request a transfer to a bank account verified through Paystack. Transfers are subject to Paystack availability, the merchant integration's available balance, transfer configuration and processing status. Unishop's dashboard is not an escrow account or a promise of immediate settlement.

5. Delivery and service completion

Riders should update delivery status accurately. Customers should confirm only after receiving their order. Providers should mark a booking complete only after doing the agreed work, and customers should confirm only after the work is done. The prototype currently has no automated dispute hold or admin adjudication process.

6. Cancellations, returns and disputes

A complete cancellation, returns, refund and dispute-resolution policy has not yet been implemented. Do not rely on this prototype for a refund guarantee. The operator must publish a clear process and support contact before accepting live payments.

7. Platform and third-party services

Paystack checkout and bank transfers are subject to Paystack's terms and service availability. Unishop does not control third-party processing times or guarantee that a transfer will succeed.

8. Changes and suspension

The operator may update marketplace features and these terms. Accounts or listings may be restricted where needed to investigate suspected fraud, unlawful activity or repeated policy violations, subject to applicable law and a published appeals process.

DATA & PRIVACY

Privacy summary

Information used by the marketplace

Unishop processes account names, usernames, email addresses, role details, password hashes, listings, bookings, orders and customer delivery details to operate the marketplace. For payouts, it stores a Paystack recipient code and limited bank display details (bank name, account name and last four digits). Full card details are entered on Paystack and are not stored by Unishop.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to authenticate accounts, arrange orders and bookings, show relevant status, prevent misuse and request payouts. Vendors, brands, providers or assigned riders receive only information needed to fulfil an order or booking. Paystack processes payment, account-resolution and transfer information under its own privacy terms.

Storage, access and retention

This prototype stores marketplace records in a JSON file on the hosting disk. It does not yet provide a self-service data export/deletion tool, formal retention schedule or dedicated privacy contact. Those controls must be established and documented before production use. Do not submit sensitive information that is not needed for a transaction.
